Nestled in Owsley County is 16,571 acres of the Daniel Boone National Forest. Owsley is known for its natural beauty and wildlife alongside the South Fork of the Kentucky River. Adventures in Owsley can include canoeing or tubing along the South Fork to the beginning of the Kentucky River. One of the most notable attractions is the Abraham Lincoln Relief Sculpture which was hand carved in the 1930s and is listed in the inventory of folk art in the Smithsonian American Art Museum.
